ABOUT pt unlocked
PT Unlocked exists to help personal trainers build careers that last — not just businesses that burn bright and fade out.
I’ve been where you are. Long hours, inconsistent income, the pressure to be everything to everyone — all while trying to keep your own passion alive. PT Unlocked was created to give trainers a clear path forward: one built on stronger client relationships, smarter systems, and genuine confidence in who you are as a coach.
The mission is simple — to help you:
-
Build a business that supports your life, not the other way around.
-
Reduce stress, avoid burnout, and rediscover the passion that got you started.
-
Create lasting impact with the clients you serve and the industry you love.
Whether you’re a newly qualified PT feeling lost about where to begin, or a coach who’s been in the game for a while and wants to rebuild your spark — PT Unlocked will help you get there.
Through practical tools, honest conversations, and mentorship from a real coach who understand the grind, I’ll help you unlock the clarity, balance, and success you’ve been looking for.

our Founder
My name is Mike Brake
I’m Mike Brake — a personal trainer, mentor, and studio owner who’s spent almost 2 decades helping people move better, feel stronger, and build habits that actually last.
When I first started out, I thought being a great PT was all about programming and nutrition. But it didn’t take long to realise the real challenges are the things no one warns you about — building trust, managing clients, keeping your energy up, and somehow fitting in your own life around it all.
That’s what led me to create PT Unlocked — to give trainers the tools, structure, and clarity that I wish I’d had earlier in my career.
Now I run a busy studio in the South of England and work with a growing number of coaches who are serious about building careers that last. My approach mixes the practical side of business with mindset and behaviour-change strategies — because you can’t build longevity if you’re running on empty.
Outside of work, I’m usually attending my kids school events and sports clubs, training myself, on a basketball court, or simply spending time with my family. Balance has become something I don’t just talk about anymore — it’s something I live by.
